PREDICTION OF THE GRAZING OCCULTATION The computer list is lunar graze predictions during the year. These predictions are calculated on the basis of ILOC (Japanese Ephemeris published by the Hydrographic Department of Japan). "DELTA SIGMA" means the distance between the star and mean datum of the moon at the moment of the close st approach. The meaning of each column is as follows; Explanation of the table A 1. TIME : Universal time (UT) 2. LONGITUDE : E : east W : west LATITUDE : N : north S : south 3. SUN AL : Altitude of the sun 4. ST AL : Altitude of the star 5. ST AZ : Azimuth of the star (measured eastward from the north) 6. CA : Cusp angle The angle measured from the cusp point of the moon to the grazing point positive : dark limb; negative : bright limb 7. SNLT : Sunlit %, positive : waxing; negative : waning 8. PA : Position angle 9. L, B, C, : Librations of the moon and position angle of the north pole of the moon 10. WA : Watts angle, WA = PA - C + 0.22 Explanation of the table B 1. SEQ : Sequential number in the year. The same number is attached to the corresponding track on the map 2. H-92 NO : The Japanese Ephmeris Star Catalog number of the star ( same as the XZ Catalog NO of USNO ) 3. SAO NO : The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Star Catalog number of the star 4. ZC NO : The Zodiacal Catalog number of the star 5. MON, DAY, : month, day, hour, minute and second in UT for the west end of the area H, M, S, 6. SNLT : Percent of the Moon sunlit 7. LIMIT : Whether the track is the north (N) or the south (S) limit of the occultation
